Winton’s Way Out West Fest celebrating the Grand Opening of The Waltzing Matilda Centre is a unique 4-day music and cultural experience from 19/04/18 - 22/04/18.
All Entertainment in town venues is free of charge for patrons who have purchased a Festival Ticket and are wearing a Festival Wrist Band. Some shows may have a cover charge if you are not wearing your Festival Wrist Band.
Entertainment will commence at various in town venues from Midday on Thursday and continue through until 1am.
This relaxed and open format allows patrons to curate their own musical adventure from the wide range of options available to suit their own itinerary and taste while they enjoy the country hospitality that is unique to Winton.
Artists, venues and performance times will be announced soon.
The Official Opening of the Waltzing Matilda Centre is scheduled for 11am on Friday Morning in Elderslie Street at the New Waltzing Matilda Centre. The Street will be closed for the 4 days of the Festival.
Entertainment will resume in various venues in Winton from 12.30pm through until 4.30pm.
The official Waltzing Matilda Centre luncheon will be held at the Winton Shire Hall from 1pm until 3pm for invited guests. An allocation of tickets will also be made available for the public and patrons of the Festival, who may wish to attend the luncheon. This will be announced shortly with ticketing details.
Friday Night Main Stage Concert
Gates will open at 4pm at the Eric Lenton Recreational Reserve for the Friday Night Main Stage Concert which commences at 5pm and runs through till 2am. Friday’s artist line-up includes:

- Lee Brice
- Kip Moore
- The Black Sorrows
The Bluegrass Breakfast will get underway at 8am in the Winton Shire Hall, followed by Bush Poets till Midday. A range of food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the morning.
In-town Entertainment at various venues will commence from 10am through until 4.30pm with the full program to be announced.
Saturday Night Main Stage Concert
Gates will open at 4pm at the Eric Lenton Recreational Reserve for the Saturday Night Main Stage Concert which commences at 5pm and runs through till 2am. Saturday’s artist line-up includes

Entertainment commences from 10am across various town venues.
The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Recovery Concert featuring Busby Marou will be held at ‘The Jump Up’, at the iconic Australian Age of Dinosaurs attraction, just 26 minutes drive from Winton from 11am till 2pm. BBQ lunch can be purchased while entertainment will also be on offer at Winton’s town venues throughout the day until midnight.
