Blues Arcadia deliver an uninhibited old-fashioned soul stomp revival. Combining the legendary soul of the Stax and Motown era with the burning heat and power of the Chicago and Memphis blues, the songwriting partnership between vocalist Alan Boyle and guitarist Chris Harvey has gone from strength to strength, receiving three category nominations in the 2017 Australian Blues Music “Chain” Awards and an Australian Roots Music Award nomination. Formed with collaborators and bandmates Jeremy Klysz (bass), Parmis Rose (keys) and Beck Flatt (drums), Blues Arcadia have delivered stand-out performances at festivals including Blues on Broadbeach, Caloundra Music Festival and the Gympie Music Muster.
Released in late 2016 and recorded live-to-tape by Mike "Beachy" Wild (Jeff Lang, Brian Cadd), their debut self-titled EP captures all the passion and excitement of the band’s live shows. From the joyous horn stabs on 'Operator Please' to the plaintive minor key moan of 'Corner Girls' this collection of eclectic dirty soul-infused blues lives and breathes with an energy all its own. It was Feature Album of the Week with Steve Austin on ABC Brisbane, was featured on the ABC Radio National's Daily Planet show and Triple J Roots n’ All and reached #2 in the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts, where it remains in the top 20.
Blues Arcadia are the proud recipients of the 2017 Australian Blues Music Award for Best New Talent.
